Marriage and Couples Counseling
What greater thing there is for two human souls, than to feel that they are joined for life – to strengthen each other in all labor, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent unspeakable memories at the moment of the last parting?” – George Eliot
Healthy Marriages are Possible
Do you feel disconnected? Maybe things aren’t that bad, but you just feel off?
Are you two struggling to communicate?
Does it seem like no matter what you do, things just stay stuck?
The first step can feel scary and nervous, or maybe you just feel hopeless and wonder if anything can be done to save your relationship. Many couples explain how they can’t believe they are at this point, and never imagined they would be sitting on a couch with a complete stranger; and it can feel embarrassing.
There is hope.
Healthy marriages are possible, and you two can develop a connection and bond to create lasting belonging together, where each of you feels safe to be yourself.
Trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Paul Steinke works to help couples feel safe with each other, enable each person to identify and ask for his or her individual needs, stop cycles of blaming and shutting down, and heal and repair wounds that exist in each person. Trust is paramount to this process, and you two can build a deeper sense of trust than you have ever known or experienced before.

Marriage and Couples Counseling
Come, find a love you never knew was possible, and experience the peace and relief you have longed for.
A marriage can be the most freeing relationship you ever experience, when you learn how to be married well and develop deep intimacy together.
Connection is a key component of any relationship. Couples counseling will help you two come together in a safe and secure way.
Most couples simply need a little bit of insight and direction, and their relationship can drastically change for the good. Couples therapy helps committed couples move from isolation to intimate belonging.
Working on your marriage before you get married builds a foundation for a life-long relationship.
Premarital counseling helps you two start off your marriage with good habits and communication styles. You can decide how you want to interact and love one another before you get into potentially damaging dance and relationship pattern.
When the two of you come together before your wedding date, you can go into marriage with eyes wide open and avoid the surprises so many couples bump into down the road.
You might be saying to yourself, “This won’t work. We won’t make it.” Or you maybe it is the thought that your spouse “will never change.”
It’s not uncommon to wonder what other people will think, or feel ashamed, or a failure, because things aren’t working and you are going to meet with a counselor.
Trust me when I say that it takes incredible courage to ask for help, to invite someone into the most personal space in your life. But when two people come together, committed, an incredible relationship can grow. You can experience that love, respect, safety and understanding you long for.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples is proven to help couples reduce conflicts, find connection and create lasting intimacy. It is currently the leading therapeutic style of marriage counseling for helping couples, relationships and marriages.
EFT is designed to be a short term couples therapy process, around 10-20 sessions, and is especially helpful for couples who struggle to communicate, and have grown distant and disconnected over time.
Have kids, life, jobs gotten in the way of your marriage? Do you feel more like roommates than intimate partners? Are you unsure if you can bring up your complaints to your spouse, and worry what the reaction will be? Then EFT is for you.
Paul Steinke is trained in emotionally focused therapy and integrates it into his work with couples. Come, stop fighting and find that lasting connection you have long desired and experience a depth of intimacy you never thought possible.
